A birthday prompt is now visible in LagosLife’s public signup flow. FIJ’s Daniel Ojukwu reported on 11 October that the publication encountered a date-of-birth request during its Saturday visit. That is an observation about the entry interface; it does not establish when the game’s adult-only rule began. [1]

What our public-form check found

On 12 October, we opened the official game’s free signup form. It showed Day, Month and Year selectors under Date of birth, plus an 18+ agreement checkbox. We entered no information, submitted no form and did not test age rejection or identity verification. [2]

Our earlier introduction already recorded the 18-and-over eligibility rule on 7 October. The official terms, effective 1 October, also specify that minimum age. The newly reported prompt and the underlying policy should therefore be read separately. [3]

A second message concerns fake team accounts

FIJ also reproduced a creator message saying the game blocks usernames posing as its team and messages offering free wallet credits. The message says the real team will not ask for money by direct message. [1]

These are different parts of running a shared city: stating who may join, asking for a birth date and communicating how staff identify themselves. Seeing a field establishes that the field exists. It does not, by itself, demonstrate how accurately the service verifies someone’s age or detects impersonation.
