One meal in LagosLife filled both our Hunger and Fun bars. Then the game announced that the chicken was so large someone at the next table was jealous. An excellent lunch, especially when the wallet stayed exactly where it was. [1]
We tested Jollof, Dodo & Chicken at Amala Shitta in Surulere during the Free Food event on 16 October 2026. The important detail is that “free” still used part of an allowance.

Free food? We tested one meal. Allowance: ₦50,000 / 10 purchases.
Jollof, Dodo & Chicken. The menu said “Free”.
The meal used ₦550 of allowance. Our wallet paid ₦0.
Hunger: 66 → 100. Fun: 78 → 100. Wallet: still ₦1,085,000.
Then the game joked: The next table envied our chicken.
Left: ₦49,450 / 9 purchases. One meal used ₦550 and one purchase.
A limited in-game event. Delivery fees were excluded.
What the meal actually changed
Before ordering, our Hunger was 66 and Fun was 78. The menu marked the meal Free and listed both needs as benefits. After it finished, both reached 100.
Our wallet remained ₦1,085,000 throughout. Energy, Social, Hygiene and Bladder were unchanged across the meal’s completion. This was one dish improving two needs, not two separate meals.
Because both bars reached their maximum, those observed increases are not proof of fixed bonuses for every starting state. What we can verify is the result for this character: +34 Hunger points and +22 Fun points, capped at 100.
The ₦550 came out of the allowance
The event details initially showed ₦50,000 and 10 purchases remaining. After our meal, they showed ₦49,450 and 9 purchases. During the action, the payment message showed a ₦550 Free Food deduction and ₦0 paid by us.
That is the distinction to watch: the allowance fell, while the wallet did not. A zero-cost meal still consumed one of the ten available purchases in this test.

The event panel also said it covered food at bukas, stalls, restaurants and the market, in Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja. It explicitly excluded delivery fees. We tested this meal in Lagos; we did not place a delivery order or repeat the test in the other cities.
Check the timer before building a plan around it
Our banner identified this as a CBN Governor Free Food event and displayed a countdown. It was an in-game limited-time offer, not a permanent rule that all food is free.
For a practical lunch stop, check the banner, read your remaining allowance and choose a dish whose listed benefits match your low needs. In our run, the chicken meal was useful precisely because it solved two problems at once. The neighbour’s jealousy was a bonus supplied by the game’s own result message.
