A new outfit, a new character, a whole virtual city ahead—and a repayment schedule already waiting. In two onboarding screenshots supplied by a reader, LagosLife's birth lottery lands on “LAPO Baby!” The welcome package includes a ₦60,000 starting loan, with ₦12,000 to repay every week. The player has not even reached the Move in button yet. [1]

What this LAPO Baby result actually shows

The screen pairs that loan with two advantages: Hustle starts at level 2, and the character is described as learning every skill 25% faster. It also suggests starting in Mushin or Yaba and working towards Lekki. That makes the opening feel like a tiny character brief: resources to begin, useful skills to build, and an obligation to remember.

The joke is that the character's life already has a financial plot before the first outing. The screenshot makes the trade-off visible, but it does not show a repayment happening or establish how long the loan lasts. We also cannot tell from these two images how the displayed loan combines with each housing option's starting amount.

The next decision brings Saturday rent

On the following Home screen, the game says rent is paid every Saturday. Three fully readable options offer different starting amounts and weekly rents. These figures belong to this reader's displayed choices; they are not a universal price list for every character or future version. [2]

Home options visible in this reader’s LagosLife onboarding
Displayed optionStart withWeekly rent
UNILAG Student · Akoka₦14,000₦1,200
Face-me-I-face-you · Mushin₦76,000₦2,400
Self-contain · Yaba₦96,000₦6,000

Yaba is highlighted in the image. Its description promises a private toilet and kitchen corner near the tech hubs. Mushin describes a room in a shared compound; UNILAG offers a student-hall bunk and a campus-life premise. There is a partly visible Lekki option lower down, but its figures are outside the readable area, so we have left it out.

Read the recurring number before choosing the address

A useful first step is to compare both numbers on each card. Yaba displays more starting money than Mushin and a higher weekly rent. Those are different things to weigh, alongside the kind of story you want to play. A bigger opening amount alone does not establish which option will suit a character best.

The screenshots stop at selection. They do not show the completed move, a final wallet balance, a rent deduction or the skill bonus in action. What they do capture is an entertaining introduction: LagosLife presents ambition and recurring bills on consecutive screens. The avatar is ready; the budget deserves a look too.

All amounts discussed here are game amounts. The official LagosLife Terms distinguish Game Naira from real-world money and do not offer cash redemption. For more context before entering the city, use the linked guides below. [3]
